Mayor
Glenn Humphries was elected mayor in May 2014. He retired from school teacher in 2010 having taught Computer Science, Web Mastering, Spanish, Music and Band, beginning in 1977, in Comstock, Texas, Balmorhea, Texas and Van Horn, Texas.

He was also in law enforcement for about 10 years, including Tx DPS Communications in Pecos, Texas, Deputy Sheriff in Culberson County, and was elected Culberson County Sheriff in 1996, serving from 1997 to 2000.

mayor-humphries After retiring as a teacher, Glenn has worked as manager of the Van Horn Community Christian Shelter, Municipal Judge for the town of Van Horn, and has operated his private small business.

Glenn is a member of the Catholic Church, serving in the choir at Our Lady of Fátima Catholic Church here in Van Horn.

He is a performing musician in a local band, and enjoys all types of music, reading, languages and computer work. He is fluent in Spanish and English, can get by in Brazilian Portuguese and a little Tagalog, and has studied a few other languages as a hobby.
